The Ultimate Guide to a Budget-Friendly Fall Skincare Routine

Updated: Oct 30, 2023

Goodbye Summer and hello Fall!!! Cooler and dryer weather is on the horizon and you know what that means? Time to switch up your skincare routine for the season. Just as we change our wardrobes each season, our skincare products are no different. During the Fall/Winter season we need to prevent our skin from looking dull and dry. According to a 2023 survey done by Nielsen, 63% of women in the United States change their skincare routine for the Fall/Winter season. This is likely due to the fact that the air is drier during these months, which can lead to dry, irritated skin. Time for more hydrating products that moisturize and bring life back to the skin! Here are some Farmasi product recommendations to keep your skin well-hydrated during the season.

Go for Hydrating Cleansers

The purpose of a hydrating facial cleanser is to remove dirt and other impurities without stripping the skin’s protective barrier and natural moisture. Here are my suggestions for hydrating cleansers by Farmasi.

- Aqua Restoring Gel Cleanser is a gentle cleanser that removes dirt, impurities, and makeup residue without drying the skin. This cleanser is good for those with normal to dry skin. I normally had oily skin, but as I got older some dry areas started to appear and this cleanser helped to restore the moisture. Key ingredients include PatchH20 which provides full long-lasting hydration, and lactic acid which helps with the removal of old dull cells on the skin. ($25)

-The Calendula Face Wash is designed for those with sensitive dry skin. Highlighted ingredients include calendula oil for calming properties, grape seed extract for moisturizing, and glycerin to add moisture with a healthy glow. ($15)

Get Serious with Serums!!!

Serums are defined as lightweight skincare products with a high concentration of active ingredients that quickly absorb into the skin. Think of it as an added boost to your skincare routine. There are many formulations for serums depending on what it is made to target.

Dr. C Tuna Aqua Boosting Hydrating Drops are hands down one of my favorite serums when it comes to dryness. This lightweight serum not only provides intense hydration but provides protection from the effects of pollution. Key ingredients include PatchH20 for long-lasting moisturization, and Sodium PCA which hydrates by attracting water to and trapping it in the skin. ($45)

Moisturize! Moisturize! Moisturize!

I cannot stress enough how important it is to moisturize your skin. Whether you have dry or oil skin, you still need to moisturize. Why??? Because you will be retaining moisture, alleviating any dryness, and protect against environmental or external factors. Here are some of my favorite moisturizers.

-Aqua Hydrating Cream is my personal favorite gel moisturizer. It is lightweight and keeps my skin hydrated throughout the day. Highlighted ingredients include PatchH20 which provides long lasting hydration and restores the quality of the skin barrier. ($45) -Calendula Face Cream is a fast-absorbing cream created for those with dry and sensitive skin. Highlighted ingredients are calendula oil for soothing damaged skin, Echinacea extract to nourish the skin, marshmallow extract to soothe redness, and burdock extract to moisturize the skin. ($20) -Age Reversist All Night Beauty Mask is another favorite of mine. I like to call this a “wonder mask” because I wonder how it keeps your skin soft through the night and wake up glowing and refreshed. This mask contains vitamin C and multivitamin complex, sodium PCA, sodium carrageenan, and laminaria digitata extract which is a plant extract that helps to soothe redness and irritation. ($55)
